Professor Lam Khin Yong is NTU Singapore’s first Vice President (Industry), driving strategic industry partnerships and fostering innovation.

A strong advocate of the Triple Helix framework, Prof Lam has established partnerships with industry leaders such as Alibaba, Continental, and WeBank, as well as global research collaborations with institutions like the Technical University of Munich (TUM) and the University of Cambridge.

For his contribution in fostering bilaterial academic and industry collaborations, he was awarded the prestigious Singapore President’s Science and Technology Medal in 2018. He was also conferred French National Order of the Legion of Honor (Chevalier) in 2017 and the Guangzhou Honorary Citizen Award in 2021. He holds the honorary title of Senior Advisor to the Hungarian Minister of Culture and Innovation, and, most recently, the title of Honorary Senator of the Technical University of Munich.

Currently, he co-chairs governing boards for NTU’s major partnerships and oversees NTU’s flagship initiatives such as CSIJRI and the Indonesia-NTU Singapore Institute of Research for Sustainability and Innovation (INSPIRASI). Prof Lam holds degrees from Imperial College London and MIT and attended Harvard’s Advanced Management Programme.
